I am new to the photography world. I just got a camera (Nikon) this past Christmas. I have pretty much self taught myself how to use my camera but still feel awkward in knowing all the technical stuff and what to do after you have taken the picture.
Nikon 5100
So far I have only played around on Picasa.
Photography is a hobby, that I would like to turn into a profession. I use to be an Over the Road Truck Driver. I was able to photograph all over the country. I saw that I had a pretty good eye. For Christmas this past year my Mom got me a Nikon 5100. I have enjoyed taking pictures with my new camera. But I am pretty much self taught. I want to be able to work with fellow photographers in a non competitive atmosphere to learn about all the technical stuff. I want tips on what to do with my photos after I have taken them. So far I have started posting them on www.AshMcFlash.smugmug.com feel free to check out what I have posted so far and provide critique and offer imput.
I do a lot of nature and landscapes. Like I said earlier I am self taught and want to learn to be more artistic. I have a sister in California who is a makeup artist and tries to encourage me into photographing people. I tend to shy away because I have never had the oppertunity to photograph people. I dont know lighting other than natural light and I have a hard time knowing what poses look good on print.
