Introduction

My name is Judy, we moved to Texas from NY 6 years ago. Many years ago I was a major photography enthusiast...back in the days of film and darkrooms. 2 years I bought myself a digital camera to try the digital age...I'm hooked again.

What camera(s) and equipment (i.e. lenses) do you use?

I have a canon EOS Rebel SXi with 3 lenses. 55 - 250 zoom, 50mm and 18-55 zoom. 20 years ago when my children were young and digital did not exist I was an avid photographer...dark room in the basement and all. Loved B&W back then. 2 years ago I bought my first digital and have been slowing getting back into photography. Recently was let go so unemployment status has provided me with a few extra hours to shoot and play.

What photo manipulation program(s) do you use? (i.e. Adobe Lightroom; Photoshop CS5 for PC or Mac)

I am teaching myself Photoshop CS5 for PC. Believe it is all begining to make sense.

Is photography a hobby or profession?

Photography is hobby, a renewed hobby.

What types of photography do you enjoy (i.e. nature; artistic; portraits; landscapes; macro; etc...)

I enjoy nature, abstract...natures not man's, macro. Anything that doesn't have a person in it...I have albums of family snapshots which I cherish but that is for memories not photography fun!

Do you have a favorite place/event that you like taking pictures of? If yes, feel free to explain.

I have been in Dallas for 5 years and until recently really never had time to explore. I am starting to wander downtown and explore the Dallas area in general. Used to be a member of a camera club back in NY and miss the Sunday morning expeditions with what became great friends. We would pick a destination each Sunday and go shoot....sometimes we'd arrange a scavenger hunt, sounds similiar to the GPS meeting listed in the meets section.

Hi Judy! I was going to attend, then I wasn't, then I was, then I wasn't, now I am again! Issues with a leg injury-but I think it will be ok now. Are you going to this? If so, would you mind if people try to learn from your thought processes if they don't interfere with your work?
