Greetings, everyone! I'm a "for fun" photographer and would like to become more professional. My passion is to "play" and see what shows up. Many of my shots take place in the backyard... and I also enjoy candid shots at events I attend.
Canon S3 IS. Printing... HP Photosmart D7160 My goal is to take greater advantage of its features and add the accessory lenses. UPDATE August 8, 2007 ... Through this group I met another Canon S3 user. It was great to work with Stu at the Texas Sculpture Garden event. We were able to share many tips and explore features together. Without the group connection, I would not have had the pleasure of working together.
Picasa2 and FastStone. I would like to learn GIMP. UPDATE August 8, 2007... Finally decided to jump into GIMP and completed my first "colorization" project this morning at 2:00 am. Obsessions!! It is in the July 2007 Photo Share folder.
It's a hobby at the moment...
Nature and macro nature are most photographed. I would like to learn more about portrait photograhy. I also spend some time enhancing/cropping my brother's photos. He tours the US on a Honda "trike" and captures wonderful scenes.
Many of my photos come from the backyard - birds, squirrels and flowers. For a suburban setting I am blessed to have various birds at feeding stations. Also the 6 - yes, 6! - cats provide many opportunities. People, anywhere, are favorites.
"I would like to meet up with others to the north. I am located in Lewisville."
I've enjoyed the events and meetings and have always learned something new. I find it an excellent group for this amatuer to be encouraged. Jen and John have been excellent organizers - both with sharing ideas and encouraging participation at whatever level members are in their photography "addiction."

Jaci...Thanks so much for joining us at Fossil Rim today. We had a blast. Sorry we losted you guys. We waited at the Overlook center, but didn't see you guys. I hope you can make it next week. Thank you for being part of our group. You bring so much to it.
~Jen~
Miss you!!!
Jaci, you need to have a tripod and be able to bracket two or more shots. Start with two f stop bracket and 3 shots.. sometimes two is just as good or pick the best two. Download Photomatix trial version and have some fun. Photomatix trial version is free and leaves a "photomatix" watermark on your photo which is ok till you get the idea and want to pay a few dollars. Keep in touch if I can help more. lyman
Getting to Frisco from Lewisville isn't easy thanks to the Colony. Joyce makes the drive to and from Allen everyday.
So I really appreciate your effort and enjoyed having you join us last night.
We look forward to seeing you again.
Cliff
Jaci is a terrific person. Always look forward to her pictures and discussing photography with her. Just a joy to be around.
